Queen’s Wharf is a major new riverfront precinct in central Brisbane, with The Star’s distinctive tower façades forming a prominent part of the city skyline after dark.
Working with long-time collaborators RAMUS, we deployed our largest CORE installation to date, bringing together high-resolution LED screens, extensive interior and exterior pixel-mapped architectural lighting and multiple projection-mapped façades. The system provides a common platform across the precinct, allowing themes and schedules to be coordinated and synchronised easily between very different surfaces.
Within The Star Atrium, tiered LED step screens are mapped as a single virtual projection surface. Content can be created from a defined viewing perspective, transforming the fragmented physical screens into a coherent image and creating an unusual sense of depth and scale within the space.
Across the tower façades, content ranges from bold feature moments to more restrained sequences where carefully composed light reshapes the architecture itself. These quieter transitions were treated with the same attention as the larger shows, using movement, intensity and form to give the building a changing presence on the Brisbane riverfront.
CORE also integrates the wider precinct installations, allowing individual surfaces to retain their own character while being easily themed and synchronised for events, celebrations and city-wide moments.
